00:07Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we're counting down our picks for 10 awesome
00:12PlayStation 3 games that many gamers haven't heard of, let alone played.
00:18Now this looks like a nice mushy cavity.
00:20Flam it to pieces!
00:25You monsters!
00:27Before we begin, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and ring
00:32the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:37Remember Me.
00:47Remember Me, a striking 2013 action-adventure game set in a beautifully realized, cyber-dystopian
00:54Neo Paris, remains one of the PS3's most unjustly forgotten gems.
00:59Sure, yes, it's a bit rough around the edges, but it has plenty of unique moments and creativity.
01:04The game stands out for its ahead-of-its-time memory remixing mechanic, which allows players
01:10to enter characters' minds and alter their recollections, to dynamically change the course
01:15of the narrative.
01:15Despite this innovative and fun gameplay mechanic, and a compelling story led by the memory hunter
01:21Nylin, the title was largely overlooked at launch due to linear level design, some general
01:27jankiness, and competing against massive blockbuster releases in a crowded calendar.
01:32For players out there willing to explore its world, it offers a deeply atmospheric sci-fi
01:37concept, and a stellar artistic vision that few modern titles have managed to replicate.
01:52Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom.
01:54Yes, I know, but we should have some rest.
01:59Okay.
02:02There's more!
02:03I swear, I never hear anybody discuss this 2010 adventure gem.
02:08Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom stands as one of the PS3's most endearing, yet criminally
02:13overlooked titles of the era.
02:15The game is celebrated by those who played it for its heartfelt fairytale atmosphere and
02:20its brilliant cooperative mechanics, which pair a nimble thief with a massive, lovable mythical
02:26beast to solve clever environmental puzzles.
02:29Unfortunately, the title was heavily overshadowed at launch for myriad reasons.
02:33However, fans of collaborative puzzle platformers like Ico or The Legend of Zelda love that
02:38this one offers a touching story of friendship and a beautifully realized world that makes
02:43it well worth tracking down.
02:45Don't skip this one.
02:56The Saboteur.
03:01Now let's see what kind of party favors these crowds brought for us.
03:05Break open those crates.
03:07So imagine a game where fighting a Nazi occupation quite literally paints the town red, along with
03:13every other vibrant color of the spectrum.
03:15Pandemic Studios delivered exactly that hook in 2009 with The Saboteur, an open world sandbox
03:22that brilliantly uses a dynamic visual gimmick, where an oppressed black and white Paris bleeds
03:28back into full color as you spark the French resistance.
03:32It seamlessly fused rooftop climbing, stealth, shooting, and driving mechanics, yet the title
03:38completely vanished from the cultural radar.
03:40It's a shame because those of us that played it really enjoyed the experience on offer.
03:45Backed by a smoky, moody jazz soundtrack, this overlooked gem remains one of the most atmospheric,
03:51historical revenge stories ever told on the PlayStation 3.
04:03White Knight Chronicles.
04:12Level 5 attempted to revolutionize the PlayStation 3 role-playing scene by blending a traditional
04:18high fantasy story with massive fantastical scale.
04:22White Knight Chronicles delivers an unforgettable high note through its wild and ingenious incorruptus
04:28mechanic, which allows the protagonist to transform into a towering 7 meter tall armored giant,
04:34to clash with colossal mythical beasts continuously in real time.
04:38Talk about awesome.
04:39Despite its gorgeous artistic design and an ambitious combat system that lets players weave custom
04:45attack combinations from vast command palettes, the game was just largely left behind when its
04:50foundational MMO-style online servers were permanently deactivated back in 2013.
04:56Today, it remains a criminally overlooked curiosity, a grand blueprint of cooperative network play
05:03that is unfortunately trapped in a single-player vacuum.
05:06Perhaps Sony will revive this gem one day?
05:08Well, here's hoping.
05:17Are you enjoying this video about overlooked PS3 games?
05:20Then why not venture over to our 24-7 gaming livestream right here on Mojo Plays after wrapping up this
05:26video.
05:27Just scan that QR code on screen.
05:293D.GameHeroes.
05:38Now, to be fair, this incredible PS3 title is becoming somewhat more known today and garnering a bigger cult following
05:45as it gets discussed in the context of hidden gems.
05:48And as the PS3 becomes more and more retro, ah yes, getting older, good times had by all.
05:54Okay, so think about transforming a flat old-school pixel kingdom into a brilliant landscape of 3D building blocks, where
06:02your hero's sword can dynamically expand to fill the entire screen.
06:06Well, 3D.GameHeroes achieves exactly that.
06:09Standing out as a masterful PS3 homage that blends classic top-down dungeon crawling with a hilariously witty parody of
06:17retro tropes and an endless character creator.
06:20Sadly, this vibrant adventure remains a bygone relic to most modern players.
06:34Pain.
06:36Here it comes!
06:44Wow, I can't believe that despite owning a PS3 back in the early 2010s, this wild, wacky, and off-the
06:50-wall title completely passed me by.
06:53Heck, I hadn't even actually heard of it until doing this very list.
06:56Few games tap into the primal, dark, comedic urge to deliberately orchestrate a hilarious human mischief and destruction situation quite
07:05like Idle Minds is Pain, a 2007 PlayStation Network downloadable title.
07:11The gameplay here centers on loading customizable ragdoll characters into a massive slingshot and then launching them into highly interactive
07:18city grids to trigger explosive, Rube Goldberg-style pileups via the Havoc physics engine.
07:24This is, of course, all while its signature pain mechanic allowed players to hilariously steer their tumbling avatars midair to
07:31chain together some massive points.
07:32Currently marooned on a legacy storefront, yes, get it while you can, this creatively absurd gem remains an intensely enticing
07:40time capsule of early-generation physics sandboxes that a lot of modern multiplayer games rarely try to replicate.
07:49It's not an eclipse, it's me!
07:54Woohoo!
07:58Puppeteer.
07:58Of all the Moon Bear King's nightmarish magical creations, Weavers were some of the nastiest.
08:07How in the bloomin' heck have we not received a full-on remake or even just a simple remaster of
08:13this 2.5D puzzle platforming game is honestly beyond me.
08:17It's so, so good and probably even deserves a sequel, at least in my book.
08:22Here, the entire screen transforms into a living, shifting theatrical stage where a headless wooden puppet must snip his way
08:30through papercraft landscapes using a pair of magical scissors.
08:33Japan Studios Puppeteer stands out as a masterful, whimsical, utterly delightful platformer that marries this stunning visual presentation with an
08:42inventive mechanic of swapping over 100 collectible heads to reveal hidden pathways.
08:48This brilliant fairy tale was immediately buried under other more popular commercial releases during the twilight months of the PlayStation
08:553, leaving it a rare, critically acclaimed masterpiece that few have actually played.
09:00So, don't be one of those people. Go play it. Thanks.
09:08Now, let her have it!
09:16Blur.
09:20Blur.
09:26What if licensed car manufacturer racing mixed with kart racing shenanigans? Kinda sounds like it shouldn't work, right?
09:33Well, somehow, someway, we received the downright awesome Blur back in 2010.
09:38This adrenaline-fueled masterpiece of car combat mayhem is one that remains unmatched in its mechanical depth and sheer playability
09:46and enjoyment.
09:46Yet, despite critical acclaim and having a lot of fans out there, this multiplayer gem was instantly run off the
09:53road commercially by a disastrously crowded release calendar and confusing marketing, leading to the developers' tragic closure and leaving the
10:01game stranded as a legendary, delisted cult classic.
10:04Gosh, it's honestly a shame since there's so much potential for more arcade racing games like this nowadays.
10:10Blistering speeds, crazy tracks, wacky power-ups, and some co-op means a re-release of Blur could do well
10:16today.
10:26Folklore.
10:35Tucked away in a grim, overcast Irish seaside village lies a hidden gateway to a vibrant, kaleidoscopic afterlife teeming with
10:43mythological Celtic beasts.
10:45This haunting backdrop belongs to Folklore, a 2007 dark fantasy action RPG where players untangle a small town murder mystery
10:54through the parallel intersecting perspectives of a searching young woman and a cynical occult journalist.
11:00What makes the journey unforgettable is its soul-snatching combat, which requires players to physically yank the spiritual ids out
11:07of defeated monsters using the controller's motion sensors to assign them as real-time attacks.
11:12It's pretty creative.
11:14Regrettably, though, this atmospheric gem has been overshadowed by time itself, and because it remains trapped on PS3 legacy hardware
11:21without modern digital preservation, it has sadly faded into a legendary elusive prize for collectors out there.
11:48One of my personal favorite RPGs of all time, Eternal Sonata might just be one of the most
11:54unique gems out there, especially in the RPG space. Perfectly blending fantasy and whimsy with a truly excellent battle system,
12:02sublime characters, and the powerfully moving classical music of Chopin. So, so good.
12:07Before drawing his final breath in 1849, legendary pianist Frederic Chopin dreams up a breathtaking cel-shaded fantasy realm, where
12:15classical melodies shape the very fabric of existence.
12:18Tri-Crescendo's Eternal Sonata masterfully builds upon this unique framework, weaving genuine historical biography into an innovative combat system, where
12:28standing in battlefield light or shadow dynamically morphs each character's special abilities.
12:33It sounds like it shouldn't work, but it does, and does so with aplomb, style, heart, and panache.
12:40Tragically though, this symphonic gem was frequently bypassed by mainstream gamers, and even RPG fans, largely because its fractured platform
12:48release schedule and deeply eccentric linear narrative kept it confined to a niche cult following.
12:53It's so good though, please go play it.
13:01So, what did you think of our picks for this list? What are some great PS3 games you've played that
