00:00The Chinese hurdler was in front, but as they leapt over the final hurdle, he fell back to third
00:05place. At first, people thought he'd just stumbled and choked at the last moment, but when the
00:09officials reviewed the footage, it became clear that something much more sinister had happened,
00:14and they started pointing fingers at the current world record holder, Dairon Robles, from Cuba,
00:19who had been running alongside the former world record holder, Cheng Liu, from China. Robles,
00:24in a desperate attempt to hold onto his title as the fastest hurdler in the world,
00:28started swiping his hand out mid-race, and was seemingly trying to hold Liu back. China
00:33protested the win, and when it was reviewed, Robles was stripped of his gold medal, and Liu was upgraded
00:39to silver. But Liu had still lost out on what had seemed like a certain world championship win,
00:44and some say it was the despair caused by this moment that made Liu do what he did the following
00:49year at the London 2012 Olympics. Tap here to watch Liu's full story.
