00:00To start by talking about Grace, I will say one of my favorite stories about the making of the first
00:05movie
00:06is in the final scene that it was your call to laugh as everybody is exploding around you.
00:11Just because it shows such an incredible grasp of the character and who she is.
00:16I'm wondering how that kind of ethos kind of carried over into the making of this movie
00:19and how much kind of command you took over her journey.
00:23I think because tonally it walks such a fine line that I wanted to make sure in the edit
00:36they had whatever version they needed of that specific scene.
00:40So there was a version of that final scene where I'm taking it very seriously
00:46and like truly shocked and horrified.
00:48And yeah, I thought, oh, I'm going to let me do one more where I just laugh.
00:53To see if, because that's what the audience might react to, like it's a funny thing.
01:00And so if I'm laughing, the audience knows like, oh, we're allowed to laugh.
01:05And it's kind of a weird thing, human response.
01:09So I tried to do the same thing in the second one, just give them options
01:14so that depending on what scene follows it or what's coming afterwards,
01:22do we need this scene to have a little bit more levity or do we need to bring it down?
01:27Sure.
01:28Yeah, they write like that.
01:29That's really an ode to Matt and Tyler, though,
01:31letting the best idea come out of left field and win.
01:34Yeah.
01:35You
