Transcript
00:00We were over in Navarre Beach earlier just a few about half an hour to an hour ago made our
00:04way
00:05east here to Destin of course we've been dealing with heavy rain all afternoon all morning and
00:10afternoon actually you know a lot of ponding up on the roadways and it's not even the surge yet
00:16just so much rain that's starting to cause some problems with driving on those roadways
00:19as we made our way east here to Destin and you know those winds have started to pick up now
00:24we're definitely getting those tropical storm force wind gusts here now and we're right on
00:28the coast here in Destin that is the gulf right back behind me there and we're probably uh you know
00:3310 10 or feet 10 feet or so up above the elevation of the actual ocean down there but i'm
00:38expected
00:39later tonight you know this area is going to be dealing with at least big waves that are crashing
00:43over this wall here and sending water here into the Destin area especially in these low the low
00:48lying areas here along the shore it's going to be dealing with that storm surge you know it does
00:52look like Destin could be right in that center of that eye later tonight as it makes landfall
00:57but right now you know we're just kind of tracking each of the wobbles of the storm kind of watching
01:01and you know trying to be mobile so we can move around if it looks like it's going to shift
01:05a little
01:05bit west or east but right now here in Destin you know things are really deteriorating rapidly
01:09was just looking at radar right before uh this live hit and uh you know i mentioned dealing with
01:15all that rain all day but it looks like maybe we'll have a little bit of dry air here coming
01:19in
01:19a little mode of dry air here for a little while uh kind of drop those rains for a little
01:23bit
01:23before things really rapidly go downhill as that eye wall starts moving in later tonight back to
01:29you guys all right thank you as always for the updates and we'll keep checking back with you
01:34as the evening goes on
