00:00Uh, I'm in the South Florida area and I can tell you, I can't find one beat reporter that
00:05is excited about the Dolphins season.
00:08I mean, not one.
00:10They think the Dolphins are going to be epically bad on a whole lot of levels.
00:15And can I tell you something?
00:17I think a lot of it's going to have to do with the defensive side.
00:21I think they're going to get lit up a lot.
00:23I love HN.
00:24I don't know if you think he's a guy worthy.
00:26If, uh, if you haven't built out your fantasy teams yet, or haven't gone through the drafts,
00:31I think HN is, is tier one as far as a running back goes, but I, how many times are
00:37we using
00:38him really here?
00:39If you're down three touchdowns all the time, it's a, it's a great question.
00:44And when it comes to looking at markets for the Dolphins, the one that comes to mind for
00:52everybody is who's going to have the worst record in the NFL.
00:56It's not, you know, will the Dolphins make the playoffs?
00:58It's like, Oh, no, it's not a division thing.
01:00It's, it's, will they have the worst record in the NFL?
01:02They have a four and a half win total.
01:04It's tied for the lowest in the NFL along with the Arizona Cardinals.
01:08And, you know, frankly, the Dolphins, we just got to call it what it is.
01:11They're not even coming into, into the season with the full, with the full deck just because
01:15they've so much dead cap space that they have to deal with.
01:18Now the Cardinals systemically, I think have immense risk just because they're so bad.
01:25The Dolphins, like they, I don't see them like they're going to try to be good.
01:30I don't think the Cardinals are even trying to be good with how, with how much they have
01:33going on.
01:34The Dolphins though, they just don't have the depth that other teams do because they can't
01:39even sign backups for like, Hey, we'll give you $3 million to play.
01:43We'll give you $4 million to be back.
01:44They have to sign these backups for the minimum just because they're not dealing with the full
01:48salary cap.
01:48So what the Dolphins give from us this season, I think is going to be very, very low in terms
01:54of our expectations.
01:55To your point, they should be.
01:56But for A-Chan, this is a player that has been absolutely fantastic over the last few years,
02:01but they're going to be playing from behind every game.
02:03How can we afford to look to get him the ball 20 times if they have to be in a
02:07passing game
02:07script?
02:09Listen, I think Malik Willis is, I thought he'd make great strides there.
02:15He's come a long way since he was, you know, drafted by Tennessee where nobody wanted him.
02:21And then of course, you know, he's, it's amazing how much coaching matters when you get to this
02:27point, right?
02:28And he gets with LaFleur in there and that game against Baltimore still blows me away how
02:33good he was against that Ravens team when he came in.
02:36He was so good, Tom, that it actually gave him a three-year and a multi-million dollar
02:41contract to be a franchise quarterback with the Miami Dolphins.
02:45Now, having said that, he's going to probably light up the, the stat sheet.
02:52Why?
02:52Because like you just said, what else are they going to do besides trail most of these games
02:57and have to throw the ball?
02:59But it's interesting because as bad as the Dolphins, I think are going to be, and I still
03:05want to try to figure out a way with Devin H.A. in each week to figure out ways to
03:09back
03:09him.
03:10What do you do with Trey McBride?
03:12Who is, let's face it, one of the best tight ends.
03:15Kyla Murray couldn't figure out how to get him in the end zone.
03:18Couldn't figure out how to, to utilize him in the red zone his entire time there.
03:22I don't, Jacoby Brissett did, I don't, at the very least, could, could Trey McBride be
03:28the guy we're focusing on each week with Arizona?
03:31I want to say yes, but just based on natural regression, the Cardinals are in a spot to
03:39see Trey McBride have a, I'm not going to say significantly first year, but because the
03:45Cardinals dropped back in so many passing games groups so much last year, they're actually
03:50due for some just natural regression that they can't drop back 600 times year after
03:54year.
03:55If that comes down by 15% or 10%, Trey McBride's not going to have a whole lot of upside
04:00because
04:00he's just not going to have the ball as much.
04:02And I think the Cardinals want to keep it away from passing games groups.
04:05That's what Nathaniel Hacken wants to do their OC.
04:10126 receptions last year, the most by a tight end in any single season, Trey McBride a year
04:17ago.
